The place the next generation of car enthusiasts turn to.

We design and manufacture tools for modifying cars at a level that was previously not possible at a reasonable price. These tools are open source and always will be, so you can actually see what is going on. We want you to take these tools, root your ride and personalize it the way you see fit. We can all learn a lot about cars and electronics along the way.

Our other goal is to help grow and build the community of car nerds. This community is a place for people interested in learning more about the inner workings of their cars. A support group for modern hot rodders, makers, security researchers or just the plain curious with skill levels ranging from professionals like automotive engineers to the DIY weekenders.

Our Team

Josh

Josh developed an interest in reverse engineering cars while converting a Ford Contour to an electric vehicle. He came up with the original idea for macchina and continues to manage the development of its increasingly complex hardware, documentation and support systems. He learned to manage projects through their entire cycle from design to production at his first company RechageCar. He has other experience working for startups such as Evermind, and has developed a reputation for designing superior enclosures. Josh was building and creating with electronics from a young age and later graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering

Earl

Earl grew up working with cars at his father's garage giving him a knowledge of the many types of car people out there from the sportscar crowd to the failed DIYer. He works on making Macchina's offerings appeal to as wide a range of people and projects as possible by making sure features, site functions and prices appeal to everyone's needs. He has an interest in all things tech related and gained a dedication to tech customers after working at Best Buy where he worked on many of the company's web teams.
